Shadowlands Theatre08/22/2007 08:17:40 AM

Shadowlands Theatre was a showcase of audio drama from both old time radio and modern sources hosted by Jack Ward with guests from 2003-2004. Played originally on CKDU out of Halifax Nova Scotia, this showcase was the precursor to the Sonic Society now hosted by Shannon Hilchie and Jack J. Ward.
Shadowlands Theatre also doubled for the early company of audio actors Jack cobbled together to perform some of the original plays that were heard on the show. Some other favourites were The Shadow, Batman: Nightfall, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Sherlock Holmes, Suspense, and Mercury Theatre on the Air.

Shadowlands Theatre and "The Shadowlands" was a name Jack cooked up twenty years ago when he was considering creating an ongoing fantasy audio series in the style of Rod Serling. Today Jack still considers Rod's finger on much of his anthology style of writing, and the Shadowlands can still be heard during summertime hiatus episodes of The Sonic Society.
