PermaLink A Work in Progress08/14/2007 07:19 AM
Jack J. Ward.com is up,

Okay, the first question I had to answer was, "Why Jack J. Ward.com in the first place?"
I have bandied that question in my head now for a good year.
There's www.soniccinema.ca
www.sonicsociety.org
There's even http://www.myspace.com/soniccinema and a hidden personal journal site, Facebook, Twitter (though honestly I can't figure what all the fuss is about on it) and Pounce (see Twitter).

I have more ways to communicate to people what's up and coming on Sonic Society, what's new with Sonic Cinema, what are my thoughts about the writing process, and what's happening in my personal life than I have time to update them, even if it were a full paying job.

That being said, I don't have a place to pull together all these elements that people can go to find out about the writing projects in a cohesive form.
The simple truth is, I'm writing more than just Audio Drama these days.
I'm working on a series of novels. Where would I publish the information about that?
I'm organizing an anthology series of short stories of a universe of my own making because I respect and love the stories written by others. Where would they go to find information on that universe?
It just doesn't fit the bill for SS or SCP and it doesn't feel appropriate to drive traffic to my personal MySpace or Facebook for such information.

So the answer was jackjward.com

It may be hubris. It may be an opportunity for publishers and companies who may like what I write to come and see the body of work that I've produced easily.
I see it first and foremost as a place for me to organize my writings, series, and upcoming projects, and be able to interact with friends and colleagues about how I can become a better writer, and how I can learn from the process.

So, I will be making posts of new releases that you may see on Sonic Cinema's website, or through MySpace's blog, or announced on the Sonic Society.
But there's less chance of those releases getting buried amidst everything else that's going on.

If you have any questions, thoughts or ideas to pass on to me. Please feel free to give me an email at
jackDOTwardATsoniccinemaDOTca.
For the sake of the spiders on the web, I wrote the above email address in code. :)

Keep Writing, Keep Casting, Keep Listening!
All the Best,
Jack
